Which type of Internet connection is right for you?
Internet connection options vary. Customers should consider the following factors before selecting an Internet package:
- Speed or bandwidth
- Cost
- Availability
- Reliability and convenience
At Goldtel, we provide extensive Internet services for every eventuality
Wireless
Our partnerships with several major service providers allow us to provide business grade Microwave and Wireless solutions from 5Mbps to 200Mbps. WiMax options are also available, but coverage is limited to the Metro areas.
Fibre
We provide dedicated 1:1 fibre for business from 5Mbps to 200Mbps. Our broadband fibre option with a 1:10 contention is a good option for the cost conscious customer who requires stability and speed but cannot afford a dedicated service. Our Fibre to the Business option (FFTB) is a good replacement for copper-based DSL services. This service is available for 2, 4, 8, 10, 20, 40 and 100Mbps.
LTE
Although we do provide LTE contracts it is important to note that this is currently a best effort service. The technology is good and definitely important for the future of connectivity due to its vast countrywide coverage and the cost effective nature of LTE. LTE does allow for expansion and fast, usable speeds but unfortunately spectrum in South Africa is limited and we therefore do not recommend this for real time services such as Voice and Hosted PBX.
DSL
DSL, which stands for Digital Subscriber Line, uses existing copper telephone lines connected to the home or business. Broadband services are delivered at the same time as landline telephone services. Customers can still place calls while surfing the Internet. At Goldtel we provide ADSL and VDSL. ADSL is limited to 10Mbps, however the VDSL service can expand to 40Mbps.
Satellite
In certain areas where broadband connections are not offered, a satellite Internet option may be available. This service can be bundled with our Goldtel VoIP. The limiting factors are latency and the high cost of data.
ISDN
PRI - ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) allows users to send data, voice and video content over digital telephone lines or standard telephone wires. The installation of an ISDN adapter is required at both ends of the transmission. Goldtel offers 10, 20 or 30 PRI voice channels at a very competitive price.
Internet
At Goldtel, we provide market-related, business-grade Internet packages, both capped and uncapped.
When you decide which Internet and last mile connection is the best fit for your needs, our consultants will gladly assist in activating your services.
